Facts, Patterns and Statistical Trends

Released each Monday, this report is intended to help you find facts, insights and trends from the raw player data. This report is all about numbers and finding stats and insights that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Entering NFL Week #4...

Quarterbacks:

Brady, Tom - Let's just say he is getting it done, over the last three weeks, Brady is averaging 296 pass yds/game. His "worst" game this year? That would be 281-total yards and 3-TDs.

Brees, Drew - He's attempted more than 40 passes in each of his last 2 games. But he's yet to hit stud level this year. Will that trend continue on MNF?

Delhomme, Jake - Even with just 18 throws in week #3 (due to his elbow injury and Carolina's ability to move it on the ground), Jake has still passed for 2.7 TDs/game over the last three weeks.

Favre, Brett - Brett played like a FF stud in 31% of his games last year. This year, its up to 67% so far. He's been good for three TDs in each of his last 2 showings.

Harrington, Joey - A gem of a FF game last week as Harrington had 361 yards and 2 touchdowns facing the Carolina defense. With the Titans, NYG and Saints coming up, the Falcons passing offense might just continue to make some noise.

Kitna, Jon - Once in the redzone, over 58% of the Lions plays go pass. And BTW, Kitna passed for 446 yards and 2 touchdowns in week #3. His "worst" fantasy game this year? That would be 267-total yards and 1-TD.

Manning, Peyton - Manning has produced a polished 273 or more yards in each of his last 3 starts. Also on the FF plus side, the Colts are looking to pass more in the redzone this year than last.

Mcnabb, Donovan - he had a massive game against Detroit and manufactured 381 yards & 4TDs. In truth, McNabb could have had 400+ yards and 5TDs as he was 14 for 15 with 332 yards and 4TDs in the first half alone.

Palmer, Carson - 40+ passes, in each of his last 2 games. A "Typical" Carson Palmer game this year? Palmer is averaging 342 Passing Yds/Game (when removing his high & low games).

Rivers, Philip - for all the negative attention, Rivers did fine from an FF standpoint against the Green Bay secondary - 306 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Romo, Tony - Tony has cunningly picked up an average of 287 yards per game for Dallas in the last three weeks. His skills in the pocket are very real. 13TDs in his last 5 regular season games. At that rate he's good for over 41-TDs this season!

Running Backs:

Addai, Joseph - 321 yards of total offense over the last 3 weeks of action for Joseph Addai. On the down side, Kenton Keith did steal three redzone opportunities from Addai last week against the Texans.

Alexander, Shaun - Alexander has generated 275 rush yds over the last 3 weeks. However, he does have a cracked bone in his hand. The good news is he will continue to play. The bad news is a modest receiver is getting worse by the week.

Barber, Marion - Marion Barber has accounted for 301 total yards of offense in his last 3 games for Dallas. Barber got 67% of the redzone carries against the Bears in Week #3.

Benson, Cedric - Against Dallas 16-46 1TD 1rec 8yds. On the down side, Adrian Peterson got 75% of the RB passes thrown to him, Benson only had 25%. A "Typical" Cedric Benson game this year? Benson is averaging 54 Yds/Game (when removing his high & low yardage games).

Brown, Ronnie - Huge stud game last week - 23-112 3TD 6rec 99yds effort last week playing against New York. A "Typical" Ronnie Brown game in 2006? 99 Yds/Game (when removing his high & low yardage games).

Buckhalter, Correll - In last week's game against Detroit, Correll contributed 7-43 1TD for the EAGLES. Good handcuff for Westbrook.

Davenport, Najeh - Last week against San Francisco, he cranked out 5-47 1TD. He's averaging an amazing 7.2 yards per carry this year! For the season, 7.5 Pts/Game (10rush-1pt, 10rec-1pt, 25pass-1pt, TD-6pts).

Drew, Maurice - Last week Jacksonville played Denver, Drew put up 15-37 0TD 2rec 18yds. The good news is he had 17 touches. The bad news is he seems stuck in a sophomore slump. In the redzone against Denver he could not move the pile. Greg Jones TD alert.

Droughns, Reuben - In the GIANTS vs. Washington last week, he posted 3-3 2TD. The key here is Droughns split the redzone carries with D. Ward in Week #3.

Fargas, Justin - 8-50 0TD 1rec 7yds performance last week against Cleveland. Raiders running backs are liking the new system!

Faulk, Kevin - His numbers from last week include 2-14 0TD 5rec 38yds.

Foster, Deshaun - His performance against Atlanta last week amounted to 20-122 2TD 1rec 13yds.

Gado, Samkon - Last game, his numbers were: 6-12 1TD 3rec 9yds.

Graham, Earnest - He posted 8-75 2TD last week against St. Louis. Still, he's got two good RBs in front of him.

Henry, Travis - 354 total yards of offense for Mr. Henry over the last three weeks!

Hunt, Tony - The rookie got into the action in Week #3 too. His performance last week against Detroit resulted in 4-1 1TD.

Jackson, Brandon - His production last week against San Diego: 6-22 1TD 3rec 22yds. For now he remains the Packers RB redzone option.

Jackson, Steven - Last week against Tampa Bay: 30-115 0TD 4rec 18yds. But he's out 1-2 weeks. Pick up rookie RB Brian Leonard.

James, Edgerrin - Checking out the past 2 weeks, we see Edgerrin James is gaining a raging 5.44 yards each time he gets handed the ball.

Jones, Greg - Last week the JAGUARS played Denver, Jones ran 1-4 1TD.

Jones, Kevin - Last week's performance amounted to 3-5 1TD 1rec 16yds. He should get 15+ touches next time out.

Jones, Thomas - No running back committee here! He has logged 2 consecutive games of 20 or more rushing attempts.

Jordan, Lamont - Over his last 3 games, he has rushed for 350 yds.

Lewis, Jamal - Looking at his last 3 games, Jamal has rushed for a total of 307 yds.

Lynch, Marshawn - 20-74 1TD 2rec 6yds last week playing against New England.

Maroney, Laurence - Examining the last 2 weeks of the season shows he is gaining 5.29 yds/rush. Don't give up on him.

Mcgahee, Willis - 272 rushing yards over the last three weeks.

Moore, Mewelde - Over the last two games, Mewelde has ran at a clip of 7.10 yds/carry. MM almost always seems to make things happen.

Morris, Sammy - Last week's showing... 12-46 1TD. As long as NE is up big he'll get his carries in the 2nd half.

Norwood, Jerious - He put up 6-32 0TD 3rec 34yds in his game last week against Carolina.

Parker, Willie - 382 yds of total offense for Willie Parker in his last 3 games.

Tomlinson, Ladainian - Last week against Green Bay: 22-62 1TD 3rec 33yds.

Ward, Derrick - Rushing yards in the last 3 weeks? Try 273! But might lose redzone work to Droughns.

Watson, Kenny - Last week against Seattle, he cranked out 9-60 1TD 1rec 1yd. Runs with nice cuts.

Westbrook, Brian - In a clear mismatch against the Detroit defense last week, Mr. Westbrook racked up 221 yds of offense and 3 TDs!

Williams, Carnell - Last week's showing... 12-46 1TD 1rec 3yds.

Williams, Deangelo - posted 11-47 0TD in Week #3. Averaging 4.1 yards per carry over the last two weeks.

Wright, Dwayne - Decent rookie. He posted 6-36 0TD last week against New England.

Wide Receivers:

Berrian, Bernard - Bernard has had no less than 5 receptions in each of his last 3 games.

Boldin, Anquan - The real question is did you have him in your lineup last week? The Baltimore defensive didn't have a chance and Anquan Boldin put together a profitable 2 TDs & 181 yards. Warner really focused on him.

Smith, Steve l - 4 touchdowns in the last 3 games.

Walker, Javon - Over his last 3 games, Javon Walker has 19 receptions.
